DASH: the ultimate UE5 workflow superpower?

You may have already heard of the creation tool “DASH” from the team at Polygonflow (www.polygonflow.io) or seen cool demos of what it can do Learn Dash: Expert Tutorials & Guides | Polygonflow BUT if you haven’t tried it for yourself, THIS IS A MUST SEE!

Let’s start with the interface… incredibly streamlined yet uber powerful, the interface takes your workflow into a whole new realm! Let’s look AI assisted content management. You can interact with DASH by simply typing in a color, for instance… Green. immediately DASH will grab all assets that are green! Simply type wood and all “wood” assets will be laid out for you to browse/use. You can even tag assets with custom descriptors for quick access to custom groups/tools/assets. DASH efficiently integrates your Megascans/Quixel assets without having to have bridge running as well. Along with your Quixel assets, you have full access to the entire Polyhaven library including HDRI’s, models, materials and more directly from the DASH interface!

Now that you have even better access to your assets than ever before but the toolset in DASH is incredible! DASH has an amazing ability to procedurally scatter and control assets to easily create amazing environments in the time it takes to finish a cup of coffee! It is phenomenal at tasks like scattering grass, trees and other organic objects to easily create engaging environments filled with detail. DASH is far from a one trick pony, once you have created a scatter volume you can control your new volume with an intelligently laid out interface. Each DASH tool will spawn it’s own unique control panel. The tools are all of the usual suspects and a couple new ones! One of the coolest and most effective controls are the masks. You can use objects, height data and even splines to control the scatters. For example you can scatter a wooden post along a spline to make a fence or scatter rocks along the same spline to add rocks around the fence poles! Splines can also be used to negatively effect the scatter for cutting out paths or adding/removing objects in a certain area.

Along with scatter tools, DASH has dynamics as well! Create organic piles of wood, rocks, etc. You can leverage the physics drop option to create realistic damage and destruction of walls, fortresses, apocalyptic scenes and more!

It’s not just organic trees and grass, oh no. Dash can easily scatter decals for beautifully detailed alleys, cityscapes, space stations and beyond! While decaling up your futuristic base on a distant planet, use DASH to dynamically scatter wires and cables across your abandon substation. Need roads or paths? Do it in a DASH! Quickly and efficiently create roads or paths across detailed hilly terrain with ease! Use the incredible texture tools to pave your new road and scatter some damage decals across it.
